Michel de la Guerre

Born: Paris (France), 1605 or 1606
Died (buried): Paris, 13 November 1679

Brother-in-law of Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre, La Guerre succeeded Charles Racquet as organist of St. Leu in around 1620. From 1633 till his death he was organist of the Sainte-Chapelle. He is considered by many to be the first French opera composer.
