Karel Miry
Born: Ghent (Netherlands), 14 August 1823
Died: Ghent (Belgium), 3 October 1889
One of the first Belgian composers to write operas to librettos in Flemish,
Miry also composed the song De vlaamse leeuw which is still the
national hymn of the Flemish people.
